Fun Family Portraits in Northern MN

“Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts.” ― Charles Dickens

Over and over again, I am realizing that as awesome as is the joy of taking beautiful images for people to cherish down through the generations, the great fun of starting this business is getting to meet so many lovely people I wouldn't have had the chance to meet. It is such a privilege to spend an hour getting to know a family like the Breitwesers, seeing their personalities come out as we go along, laughing with them and making them laugh. God is so beautiful as seen in the faces of all the various people He created, and I am so grateful for my every opportunity to brush shoulders with someone new!

And, all that said, I LOVE the above photo of this family :)

I love romance...

... and family.

The Breitwesers have the coolest 4 kids. They're pictured youngest to oldest here.

Thank you, Breitwesers, for the great morning shoot! I hope you love your photos :)

For information on a family session of your own, contact me at whispersoflight.photo@gmail.com. July is filling up fast!

Awesome Family Photo Shoot in Menahga, MN

"More precious was the light in [Y]our eyes than all the roses in the world." --Edna St. Vincent Millay

What an awesome shoot I had with these gorgeous kids on Monday! Between the brothers' banter and the little sister's adorableness, it was such fun. And the beautiful first day of April provided the kind of light that makes me swoon and thank the Lord once again for my camera to capture it!

The Anderson kids each have an AMAZING pair of eyes... from the littlest to the biggest...

...And everyone in between!!

Even their cat named Friendly wanted to get in on our shoot :)(And how great would it be to have a bedroom wall like Miss Violette's?)

Biggest brother Mikey is heading off to college and joining the military when he finishes school this Spring, so his proud family needed to get a good portrait session in before he takes off. We recreated a photo of them taken a few years ago with Violette giggling into her hands :)

Thank you, Anderson, for letting me come into your beautiful home and snap up some photos of your beautiful family! I hope you love them as much as I do :)

A Brand New Treasure: Newborn Photography in Park Rapids, MN

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." -- Matthew 6:21

Gracelyn Mae is my sister's newest little treasure.
This "treasure chest" in our Mom's house has always been one of my favourite pieces of furniture. It became the perfect setting for a stylized shoot of sweet 3-week-old Gracie with her life verse-- Luke 2:40-- laid open in an old family bible.

She really is an absolute treasure!

I just couldn't decide if I liked this better in full blast colour, or a soft, velvety black&white...
I just love that sweet sleeping baby!

"And the child grew and became strong: [she] was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on [her]." -- Luke 2:40

Baby Gracie's big brother thinks she's a treasure too. His Mommy has stopped counting how many times a day he can be heard to say, "Me love our baby!" :)

Family Photography: Autumn Day Photo Shoot in Park Rapids, MN

“This is the most profound spiritual truth I know: that even when we’re most sure that love can’t conquer all, it seems to anyway. It goes down into the rat hole with us, in the guise of our friends, and there it swells and comforts. It gives us second winds, third winds, hundredth winds.”
– Anne Lamott

I worked with these 3 adorable siblings on a BEAUTIFUL golden Autumn day.
Love the light! And the subjects at play :)
